Kurnool: District collector G. Srijana announced the state government's organisation of a sports and games event, "Aadudam Andhra," scheduled for December 15 to February 3, 2024.
Registrations opened on Monday and can be completed online at https://aadudamandhra.ap.gov.in/login or by calling the toll-free number 1902. Individuals above the age of 15 are eligible to participate in cricket, volleyball, basketball, kabaddi, and kho kho competitions.
The event will feature competitions at ward, village, mandal, assembly segment, district, and state levels. Sports grounds have been mapped, and preparations are underway, including staff appointments and twice-weekly training sessions.
The collector unveiled the Aadudam Andhra logo and displayed sports equipment.
Additionally, weightlifting athletes from the district were honored for winning 9 medals at the 10th AP State Senior and Junior Weightlifting Championship Games held in Srikakulam district from the 17th to the 19th of this month.
Collector Srijana felicitated B. Veeresh, D. G. Veeresh, Abdullah, Narasimha Naik, Parvez Musharraf, and B. Nagamani for their achievements, recognizing their gold, silver, and bronze medals.
