BENGALURU: Bengaluru police will press into service drones to keep an eye on the revellers on New Year’s Day celebrations in Bengaluru city, said Commissioner of Police Pratap Reddy adding that safety of women and children being top priority.
Stating that permission has been given for New Year celebrations till 1 am by both State Government and police department, Pratap Reddy told media persons after review Brigade Road of the city that Brigade Road vicinity of Bengaluru city witnesses more crowds on New Year’s Day celebrations than any other points in the city and police officials will install metal detectors and do anti-sabotage checks at access points.
Reddy said pubs across the city have been asked to install adequate surveillance cameras especially in parking areas and entry points as a precautionary measure for the safety of the people.
