Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court directed the Advocate-General to assist the court in a matter pertaining to determining the inter-state seniority in the cadre of post of assistant director working in the state.
P. Sunita Bai, deputy director of insurance, working in the office of the District Insurance Office, Mahbubnagar, had challenged the memo issued by the AP finance department determining the preparation of a tentative seniority list in the cadre of assistant director in the composite state on June 1, 2014.
A division bench of Chief Justice Ujjwal Bhuyan and Justice C.V. Bhaskar Reddy asked AP counsel as to how in 2022 the AP government could draw up a tentative seniority list for officials of Telangana state. The bench found that the issue raised by the petitioner was normally settled in an earlier verdict of the court but that the issue needed closer scrutiny.
While directing the registry to furnish the copy of the writ petition along with material paper to the Telangana Advocate-General, the bench adjourned the matter to January 19.
