Health Experts Seek AI Solutions at AIG
Hyderabad: AIG Hospitals hosted the first-ever dedicated conference on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare, marking a pivotal moment for tertiary care hospitals in India. With over 300 participants, the event fostered insightful discussions on innovative AI solutions for medical diagnosis, treatment, and overall patient outcomes. The day-long conference explored cutting-edge AI applications, examining their impact on patient care and the potential to revolutionise healthcare delivery.
Dr D. Nageshwar Reddy, chairman of AIG Hospitals, underscored the transformative potential of AI in patient care. He highlighted ongoing collaborations with government and non-government institutions to develop sustainable AI-based healthcare solutions, aiming to enhance clinical effectiveness while ensuring affordability and accessibility.
The conference featured panel discussions, case studies, and interactive sessions covering AI-driven diagnostics, personalised medicine, ethical considerations, and regulatory frameworks. Notably, Rajiv Kumar, managing director & corporate vice-president of Microsoft India, conducted a session on 'How to use ChatGPT?' demonstrating practical applications in clinical scenarios.
The event, attended by D. Sridhar Babu, minister for IT, E&C, Industries & Commerce, and Legislative Affairs, Government of Telangana, brought together key figures from Hyderabad's tech industry and healthcare professionals.
Sridhar Babu commended the role of AI in healthcare transformation, applauding collaborative efforts between the government, healthcare institutions, and technology experts. Dr Prateek Sharma, a prominent gastroenterologist and upcoming president of ASGE, stressed the importance of continuous learning and innovation in seamlessly integrating AI into healthcare.
Eminent speakers, including Dr B.V.R. Mohan Reddy, Anil Chalamalasetty, Dr Sravanthi Parasa, Dr Vineet Ahuja, Dr Anthony Vipin Das, Prof S.K. Mishra, and Dr G.V. Rao, contributed to diverse discussions that reflected a shared vision of harnessing AI's potential for accessible healthcare, particularly in rural areas, and its significant impact on clinical and administrative outcomes.
