Traffic cop performs CPR, saves man's life in Hanamkonda
WARANGAL: A traffic constable performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and saved a man who suffered a cardiac arrest while on his motorbike near Alankar junction in Hanamkonda on Sunday.
The man, Raju, was headed towards Warangal City when he collapsed on the road. The traffic constable, Swamy, who was on duty nearby, performed CPR until Raju was breathing again and then shifted him to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) hospital for further treatment.
With a rise in the number of cardiac arrests across the state, the police department had conducted training sessions for its personnel to perform CPR in emergencies.
Warangal police commissioner A.V. Ranganath appreciated Swamy for the quick action and said the training given to police personnel has been fruitful.
