Minister Talasani Holds Bonalu Review Meet

HYDERABAD: Talasani Srinivas Yadav, minister for animal husbandry, fisheries, dairy development and cinematography, held a review meeting at Salarjung Museum to discuss preparations for the Bonalu festival that will be held on July 16 in the Old City. Government officials of various departments, police and temple managements were present.

He said that after the formation of the new state and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao declaring it as a state festival, the government has been ensuring that Bonalu is organised on a grand scale. He added that the government has released Rs 15 crore to provide financial assistance to various temples for the conduct of the festival.

Talasani said, “The government is arranging Ambari (elephant) for Ammavar procession to Akkanna Madanna and Sabjimandi temples. Arrangements are being made for live broadcast so that people residing in far-flung areas can watch it on TV.”
