BRS MLA from Malkajgiri using cops to get his way: BJYM leader

HYDERABAD: A complaint has been lodged with the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Telangana against Mynampally Hanumantha Rao, BRS MLA from Malkajgiri, alleging that he was indulging in “nefarious activities” and “terrorising his constituents by filing fake cases with the assistance of police officials” against his political opponents.

In his complaint to the Telangana CEO, BJYM treasurer P.M. Sai Prasad said the BRS MLA with the help of some police officers, was “foisting fake cases including SC/ST Atrocities Act, Sec 66 a & b of IT Act (sections scrapped by Supreme court) and other fake cases.” Prasad said he too was a victim of such actions by the MLA.

The BJYM leader claimed that Hanumantha Rao had faked his educational qualifications in different election affidavits from 2008 to 2018. He said he had challenged this in the court. As a consequence of this, and his revealing the MLAs alleged land grab and other illegal activities, he was being targeted by the MLA with the help of police officials in Alwal, Malkajgiri and Neredmet, Prasad claimed.

Saying that cases filed against him were a result of political vendetta by the BRS MLA, Prasad urged the CEO to take action on this issue. The BJYM leader also sent copies of his letter to the the DGP, police commissioners of Rachakonda and Cyberabad commissionerates, and to the Chief Election Commissioner of India among others.
