Viveka's Murder: CBI Has Distorted My Version, Kallam Tells HC

HYDERABAD: Retired IAS officer Ajeya Kallam, who is presently adviser to the AP government, has approached the Telangana High Court complaining that the CBI had distorted his statement in the investigation related to the murder of Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy.

Kallam complained that the investigation agency had submitted a wrong version of his statement in the supplementary chargesheet submitted before the CBI court at Hyderabad in the last week of June.

The CBI submitted to the court that according to the statement of Kallam, around 5.30 am on March 15, 2019, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy went out from the meeting room on a call from his wife and returned 10 minutes later uttering ‘Chinnana’(Vivekananda) is no more’.

Kallam denied this version before the court and said it was distorted by the CBI. According to him, he had only stated to the CBI that the meeting had started around 5 am and after about 90 minutes when there was a knock on the door of the meeting hall the OSD to Jagan Mohan Reddy went to the door. He returned after some time and whispered something to Jagan Mohan Reddy, who immediately got up expressing his shock while announcing that his uncle had died.

Kallam said that he had not stated anything to the CBI about Jagan Mohan Reddy getting a call from his wife.

‘Unfortunately, what I had stated was not accurately recorded by the CBI and the version of the CBI is entirely false. It can prejudice the investigation and falsely implicate several individuals” Kallam said in the petition in the High Court.
