Hyderabad: A man died by suicide at the railway tracks near Lakdipul late on Sunday, a few hours after his four-year-old died of health complications at the Niloufer Hospital, police said on Monday
The father, Kommula Kishore Kumar, 41, a contractor, was traumatised by the death of his elder daughter Aradhya at 6.16 pm, his brother Kumalla Kiran Kumar said. Her funeral was performed the same evening.
Kishore waited till his wife Priya and two-year-old daughter went to sleep, left the house and went to the railway tracks, P. Srinivas, inspector, Nampally Government Railway Protection (GRP), said.
Kishore was run over by the Telangana Express that was six hours behind schedule. The driver said Kishore did not respond to the train’s horn.
Kiran said Kishore had mortgaged his property and borrowed Rs 5 lakh for Aradhya’s treatment.
“He loved Aradhya a lot and he did his best to save her. After she died, my husband was in a deep shock. Our relatives tried to console him but blamed himself,” Kishore’s wife Priya said.
