HC grants bail to suspended cop Rao
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Wednesday granted conditional bail to the rape-accused suspended inspector K. Nageshwar Rao. His bail application had been rejected by the lower court and he had moved the High Court. The High Court, after perusing the application of Nageshwar Rao granted by bail with the condition that two sureties be submitted and that he would appear before the police every day.
Nageshwar Rao, then with the Marredpally police, was arrested after a FIR was registered against him at the Vanasthalipuram police station for allegedly raping, attempting to kill a woman after trespassing into her house at Vanasthalipuram and then kidnapping the victim and her husband. He was suspended from service by the city police commissioner.
