Eluru collector focuses on improving medical services
Kakinada: Eluru district collector V. Prasanna Venkatesh is paying close attention to improving the conditions in the Government Hospital at Eluru. On Saturday, he convened a hospital development society meeting and cracked the whip on doctors and other medical personnel, exhorting them to provide better medical facilities and treatment to patients.
He noted that the number of patients had decreased compared to last year and demanded an explanation from the doctors. He also reminded them that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is prioritizing the provision of better medical services to the people and has upgraded the Government Hospital at Eluru and created new infrastructure facilities.
Venkatesh stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in the hospital, and instructed the superintendent to install CC cameras in every ward, set up complaint boxes, and display toll-free numbers for complaints. He warned that he would personally verify complaints and take action against personnel who commit any wrongdoing towards patients.
He also announced that he would be conducting decoy operations with third parties and making surprise visits to the hospital. Any negligence of duty, corruption, or other wrongdoing would be met with strict action, he vowed.
The meeting resolved to give permission for the purchase of necessary medical equipment for the hospital.
