It is Online Time for Leaders And Candidates to Woo The Voters

Adilabad: It is 'Online' time for political leaders and candidates. Phone numbers are collected from the people in the name of social service or to get freebies distributed by the various trusts. Candidates use these numbers to reach out to the voters online.

The leaders do small money transactions to avoid the attention of authorities. And, such transactions are being done by more persons.

Some candidates have engaged teams of youths to do online operations. They are busy calling voters by going through the voters’ lists with cell phone numbers.

These teams are calling the voters and appealing to them to vote for respective candidates. Some other groups are doing online money transactions to woo the votes.

These youths are divided into various groups and did operations at the gram panchayat and mandal levels to ensure maximum people voted for their candidate.

Some candidates are running charitable trusts and doing social service. These trusts have collected details about the voters and created a database. The same data is being used to reach out to the voters at the last minute.

However, members of such charitable trusts oppose linking social service to their political career.

Distribution of cash to woo the voters has undergone many changes over a period of time. Some candidates feel that calling the voters directly over the phone and requesting them to vote for a candidate will positively impact voters instead of sending recorded voice messages.
