JLF unveils third list of influential speakers
Hyderabad: The annual Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF) unveiled its third list of speakers for the 17the edition. The festival announced the list of 25 speakers out of over 300 expected to attend the 2024 edition from 1-5 February 2024 at Hotel Clarks Amer in Jaipur.
The third list of Jaipur Literature Festival speakers includes Amod K. Kanth, social entrepreneur and IPS officer, Arun Maira, former member of India’s Planning Commission and author of 'Shaping the Future,' Badri Narayan, Sahitya Academy Award-winning poet, Daisy Rockwell, artist and translator, Daniel Hahn, Booker International Prize nominee and Ottaway Award winner, Guillermo Rodriguez, author and Casa de la India director, Gurucharan Das, former CEO of Procter & Gamble and memoirist, and Ivy Ngeow, London-based author of 'The American Boyfriend.'
The lineup continues with notable figures such as Kal Penn, actor, writer, and former White House staff member; Katherine Rundell, Baillie Gifford Prize-winning author of 'Super-Infinite'; Koel Purie Rinchet, award-winning Indian actress and writer of 'Clearly Invisible in Paris'; Louise Kennedy, author of Women’s Prize-shortlisted novel 'Trespasses' and winner of multiple literary awards; Manju Kapur, Commonwealth Prize-winning author of 'Custody'; Matthew Parker, author of 'The Sugar Barons' and 'One Fine Day: Britain’s Empire on the Brink'; Miranda Seymour, award-winning biographer and novelist; and Monica Ali, bestselling author of 'Brick Lane' and other acclaimed works.
The festival will showcase a diverse lineup of speakers, including Naushad Forbes, co-chairman of Forbes Marshall and author of 'The Struggle and the Promise: Restoring India’s Potential.'
Other notable participants include Peter Frankopan, a professor of Global History at Oxford University with acclaimed books like 'The Silk Roads: A New History of the World'; Peter Moore, bestselling author of 'The Weather Experiment' and 'Endeavour'; Phillip J. Stern, historian of the British Empire and author of 'The Company-State' and 'Empire, Incorporated'; Reshma Ruia, award-winning British Indian writer known for 'Still Lives'; Richard Osman, author and television presenter of the 'Thursday Murder Club' series; Sanjay Jha, executive director of Dale Carnegie and former national spokesperson for the Congress; Sudha Murthy, founder of Infosys Foundation and a prolific writer in English and Kannada; and Yatindra Mishra, a writer, columnist, and cultural icon focusing on the heritage of Indian music.
