Simhachalam temple receives Rs 2.4 crore cash offerings, jewellery
Visakhapatnam: Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy's Devasthanam in Simhachalam witnessed an overwhelming surge in offerings, with devotees from near and far generously dropping contributions into the hundis.
As per the Hundi Counting Report of Tuesday, November 28, the total cash collected on the day is Rs 2,40,34,556. Devotees also donated precious metals in jewellery and foreign currencies.
Gold contributions reached 148.5 grams, while silver offerings touched 700 grams.
Foreign currencies received include 198 US dollars, 59 Singapore dollars, 50 UAE dirhams, 3 Qatar Riyals, 2,000 Myanmar kyets, 5 UK pounds, 111 Saudi Arabia Riyals, and an array of other currencies from nations including Canada, Sri Lanka, Oman, Surat, Bahrain and Nepal.
