Amrit Bharat Express to halt in 10 railway stations in AP
Vijayawada: Vijayawada Division Railway manager, Narendra A. Patil said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to flag off Vande Bharat Trains and Amrit Bharat Express Train on December 30 and one of the trains, the Malda Town – SMVT Bengaluru Amrit Bharat Express, will pass through the Vijayawada division.
The train will halt at 10 stations including Tuni, Samalkot, Rajahmundry, Eluru, Vijayawada, Tenali, Chirala, Ongole, Nellore, and Gudur over Vijayawada jurisdiction.
Speaking to the media, Patil explained that the Amrit Bharat Express is a new category of superfast passenger trains in the country, and features an LHB push-pull train with 22 coaches. Of these, 12 are Non-Air-Conditioned Sleeper Class (SL), and 8 are General Unreserved Class (GS/UR). The train has locos at both ends for better acceleration and provides improved facilities for rail passengers such as aesthetic and attractively designed seats, a better luggage rack, a snack table, a mobile charging point with a suitable mobile holder, LED lights, CCTV, public information system, among others.
Additionally, the Amrit Bharat Express train offers better lavatory facilities, an automatic hygiene odour control system, an aerosol-based fire suppression system in electrical Cubicle, radium illumination flooring strip, jerk-free coupler for a smooth journey, and wide gangways to facilitate moving from one coach to another, he said.
