Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam Special Pocso Court sentenced an accused to 20 years in jail and fine of Rs 5,000 for repeatedly assaulting a 13-year-old girl sexually and making her pregnant.
The court awarded the victim a compensation of Rs 4 lakh.
According to police, Erupally Demudu had sexually assaulted the minor girl multiple times. When the girl's pregnancy came to light, her family members questioned Demudu.
When the accused threatened to kill them all, the victim's family lodged a complaint at the New Port police station.
Police started investigation, collected evidence and took up Demudu’s prosecution in court, which jailed him for 20 years.
