Life threat complaint filed against AIADMK legistalor A Bhasker

Chandrasegar also told that the legislator was informed about the programme, but he refused to participate.

Puducherry: A Pondicherry Civil Service (PCS) officer files a complaint against AIADMK MLA A Bhasker for allegedly facing a threat to life from him. Puducherry municipal commissioner and senior PCS officer R Chandrasegar lodged a complaint with Director General of Police (DGP) claiming that the legislator manhandled him creating disturbance in a government department programme on March 22.

In his complaint letter, Chandrasegar alleged that the legislator threatened him and other officials of the department using filthy language and deterred them from discharging their official duties.

“People of a residential association in Mudaliarpet constituency lodged a complaint with Lt governor Kiran Bedi regarding waste segregation. The governor directed the municipal officers to meet the people and discuss their complaint. On March 22 we convened a meeting with people of the residential area.

The legislator of the constituency A, Bhaskar, along with his supporters came to the place, started to use abusive language against me and tried to manhandle saying that we are intervening into the rights of the legislator. There was even a threat to my life from the legislator so I lodged a complaint with the DGP on the same day,” Mr Chandrasegar told Deccan Chronicle.

Chandrasegar also told that the legislator was informed about the programme, but he refused to participate. I have forwarded the complaint the Lt Governor also, he added.

When contacted the MLA, however, refused the allegations and claimed that he had gone to the place to ask officials how they can conduct the programme without the knowledge of the legislator.

Bhaskar had recently raised a privilege issue with speaker V. Vaithilingam that the developmental works in his constituency are being implemented by the municipal commissioner without inviting him. He also alleged that such a situation arises only after Kiran Bedi assumed office as the Lt Governor.

“A new kind of situation arose in Pondicherry after Ms Bedi assumed charges as the Lt Governor. The officials are functioning as a parallel government without the knowledge of the elected representatives”, alleged Mr Bhaskar.

“How can an MLA manhandle a senior official in front of people, the complaint is lodged with some hidden intentions. I am ready to face any kind of investigation”, Mr Bhaskar told Deccan Chronicle.
