Thiruvananthapuram: More CBSE schools get cent percent success
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Several schools in the capital city have bagged cent per cent results in the CBSE Class XII result which was published on Sunday. Mother India Public School, Kallara, Jyothis Central School Kazhakoottam, Mar Gregorious Memorial Central Public School, Akkulam bagged cent per cent results. Sarvodaya Central School, Nalanchira, St. Shantal School, The School of Good Shepherd, Kairali Vidya Bhavan Nedumangad, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Kodunganoor, Kendriya Vidyalaya Pangode, Alan Feldman School, Holy Angels School, Amrita Vidyalayam, Bishop Pereira School, Shantiniketan School, Vivekananda Memorial Public School, Arya Central School, Bhavans Vivekananda Vidya Mandir Manvila also had 100 per cent pass.
153 students of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Senior Secondary School, Kodunganoor got excellent results with 51 distinctions and 52 first classes. G. Uthara, commerce stream, bagged the first position in the school with 94.2 per cent. Y. Gautham topped in computer science with 93.8 per cent, Vinayak Jaypal with 93.6 per cent in biology stream and S. Parvathy topped in bio-technology with 92 per cent. All 67 students of Mar Gregorious Memorial Central Public School secured first class. Nine students scored 90 per cent and above and 33 distinctions were achieved. MGM school topper is Aathira Susan George (Bio-Maths) with 95 per cent in all subjects.
At Jyothis Central School, Kazhakoottam, 20 out of 79 students scored more than 90 per cent. In the commerce stream, A. Praveena (96.2 per cent), S. Afiya Fathima (Science stream - 95.2 per cent) became the school toppers in the respective streams. Arjun Suresh got full marks in Biology and Sreegananath scored 99 marks in Malayalam. A total of 61 students got distinction and the remaining 18 got first class. At Sarvodaya Central Vidyalaya, 98 students passed with distinction and 28 students scored 90 per cent and above. Sainik School Kazhkoottam repeated the feat of 100 per cent pass.
70 students appeared for the exam of which 39 got distinction and 30 scored first class. Cadet Athul P. Pramod emerged topper with 94.8 per cent marks. Four cadets scored above 90 per cent. These results gain more importance when viewed from the fact that this is a military-based school which emphasizes overall development of its residential students and not academics alone. SSK principal said that there was no provision for tuitions and this result had been attained by pure classroom teaching/learning only. J. R. Gayathry, bagged 93.6 per cent in science/bio stream, S. Niranjan 94.8 per cent in science/computer, M. N. Janaki 89.4 per cent in commerce stream from Bhavans Vivekananda Vidyamandir, Manvila.
