HC orders notice to authorities on usage of Mallanna temple road

HYDERABAD: Justice K. Laxman of the Telangana High Court ordered notice to the authorities in a writ plea questioning an easement order passed by the tahsildar of Nizamabad village in Rajanna Siricilla district.

The order was for the use of a road with the local Mallanna temple. Writ petitioner Velpula Reddy complained that for over 100 years devotees were using an alternative land. The present order is without jurisdiction and application of mind. The judge, however, refused to suspend the order on the ground that people’s convenience to go to the temple should not be jeopardised without hearing the parties.

HC orders notice to govt on burial ground issue

Justice K. Laxman of the Telangana High Court ordered notice to the government and the civic authorities of Nalgonda district in a petition relating to a burial ground/graveyard. Boppa Laxman Rao complained that officials, without any legal authority, were threatening to dispossess the petitioner from 15 guntas of land under the guise that it was required for the local Vaikunta Dhamam (burial ground). The petitioner contended that the government had allotted another land for the purpose, despite which the authorities were threatening to dispossess the petitioner.

HC halts demolition of a doctor’s premises

Justice K. Laxman of the Telangana High Court directed the civic authorities not to take any further steps with regard to the threatened demolition of the premises of a practising doctor at Ganesh Basti in Kotteguda. The judge made the interim orders in the vacation court on entertaining a writ petition filed by Arakala Vijaysri. The petitioner complained that she was in possession of 600 sq. yards of land where the civic authorities came with six JCBs and started demolishing a part of her structures in the name of road widening. She complained that no notice was given to her.
