Farmer drowns in Pullur check dam
Sreenivasan had gone to a near-by temple along with his family when the incident happened on Friday evening.
Vellore: A 45-year-old farmer from Tamil Nadu drowned at the Pullur check dam across Palar river in a village near Chittor in Andhra Pradesh, police said.
Sreenivasan, the farmer, is alleged to have been in an inebriated condition when he drowned at the check dam in Keelpallathur village bordering Tamil Nadu.
Sreenivasan had gone to a near-by temple along with his family when the incident happened on Friday evening. Police said he was habitual drinker and was in an inebriated condition when he went to the dam to take bath.
“Andhra Police and rescue teams are trying to locate his body. Once the body is recovered, we will come to know further details about the incident,” Vellore SP Pagalavan said.
