Vehicles creating traffic problems can be penalised

Hyderabad: The next time you take your vehicle out for a ride or drive, make sure it’s fuel tank is sufficiently filled for the journey and the vehicle’s condition is good. The city traffic police have all the reasons to slap you with a fine, if the vehicle shuts down and hampers traffic movement.

According to the Motor Vehicle Act, if the vehicle stops and causes hindrance to the free flow of traffic you are liable to be penalised.
It is common to come across several such traffic congestions during peak hours when a vehicle breaks down in the middle of the road. This menace cannot be tolerated as per the MV Act.

Hyderabad traffic police joint commissioner A. V. Ranjanath said “Negligence that adversely impacts free flow of traffic is an offence. Such vehicles can be penalised under Motor Vehicle Act, 177 and 190 (2). I urge everyone to abide by traffic rules and ensure that they don’t cause any problems for others.”
