Stringent action Against Persons Brandishing Talwars: CP
Warangal: If they are found brandishing swords and talwars or demonstrating with other weapons in public places or posting pictures and videos of themselves wielding swords on social media, they will face severe punishment, warned Warangal police commissioner A.V. Ranganath in Hanamkonda on Tuesday.
According to the commissioner, it has come to their attention that certain people are not only walking around with big swords and talwars but are also brandishing talwars in public areas, causing terror among the population.
During birthday parties and other important events, especially the young, cause havoc in the middle of the streets at midnight by brandishing swords and talwars and then using them to cut the cakes.
Some people are even adding flexies in talwar positions. Later, they use the images and videos to post them on social media, which is considered a crime and will result in punishment.
He urged people to call the police if they see teenagers or other people carrying swords in public places, as well as during processions or festivities, by dialing 100. He cautioned that such people will face prosecution under different IPC sections as well as Section 27 of the Arms Act.
