Hyderabad: Keeping his promise to help the Lambada tribal woman Vadthya Lakshmi who was alleged tortured by the LB Nagar police, former PCC president V. Hanumantha Rao handed over RS 4 lakh that was raised from Congress leaders.
After meeting her at her residence at Almasguda Sri Hills Colony, Hanumantha Rao said, “We extended help on humanitarian grounds.”
While Rao and senior Congress leader Depa Bhaskar Reddy contributed Rs 1 lakh each, Rangareddy district Congress president Challa Narasimha Reddy, Kotta Manohar Reddy, Yenugu Janga Reddy and Kandukuru mandal president Krishna Naik gave RS 50,000 each.
