Governor Junks LS Aspiration Rumour Contest Upcoming TN Lok Sabha elections

Hyderabad: Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan on Saturday dismissed rumours that she wanted to quit her position and contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Tamil Nadu.

Speaking with mediapersons, the Governor said contrary to reports published in some sections of the media, she did not visit Delhi recently but went to Tuticorin. “I did not go to Delhi. I have no intention of going to Delhi. At present, I am the Governor for Telangana and Lt Governor for Puducherry, and I am doing work given to me,” she said.

“In future, if there is a decision, I will inform. I have no hidden agenda, my agenda is open. When work is given to me, I will do it with full attention. I have left everything to the Prime Minister and to Lord Rama,” she said.

The Governor was speaking during her visit to Anuradha Timbers, the
Hyderabad-based company that bagged the contract for manufacturing 100 doors for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the consecration of which is scheduled for January 22.

She complimented the company for its work, and track record of similar jobs it undertook for other temples, including the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Yadadri.

She said that the company and its artisans have "not only carved doors, but also etched their names into the annals of the nation's cultural history." She also invited the team to visit Raj Bhavan.

Sarath Babu, the managing partner of Anuradha Timbers, said: “Everything seems too big to digest at this point. The Governor's visit and her words are truly an honour.”
