Police ensure peaceful Shobha Yatra

Hyderabad: The Sri Rama Navami Shobha Yatra concluded on a peaceful note in the city on Thursday.

The two major processions led by Anand Singh and MLA T. Raja Singh procession passed through Mangalhat , Begum Bazaar Chhatri, Siddiamber Bazaar, Gowliguda, Koti and culminated at Hanuman Vyamshala where they were received by huge crowds.

Credit for the peaceful procession goes to the meticulous planning, tech-driven monitoring of the entire stretch, crowd movement and traffic flow and personal supervision by senior officers of city police in coordination with officials from other government departments.

City police commissioner C.V. Anand inspected the entire procession in the morning and urged the Utsav Committee members to start the procession early.

The proceedings were monitored from the joint command control centre in Basheerbagh where officials from TSRTC, R&B, GHMC, EMRI, fire and electricity were present. Over a thousand police personnel were deployed for bandobast in the sensitive areas.

“The procession was completed peacefully. It was a team effort involving several departments and the devotees,” Anand said.
