Rallies, meetings mark four years of Jagan government

VIJAYAWADA: With the YSR Congress completing four years in office, the party’s rank and file celebrated the occasion by conducting rallies and meetings across the state on Tuesday.

At the main programme at the party’s central office in Tadepalli, party general-secretary and adviser to government (public Affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy cut the cake and unfurled the party flag.

Addressing the gathering, he said the opposition has become envious of the popularity of the government as Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was implementing various welfare programmes as per the election manifesto. At the same time, the government is giving equal importance to the development of the state, he stressed.

“Chandrababu is trying to hoodwink the people again by telling lies and copying the Amma Vodi and renaming it as Ammaku Vandanam in his new poll manifesto. But the people are wise enough to see through his games,” Ramakrishna Reddy said.

He appealed to the people not to be carried away by the false promises of the TD chief.

Social welfare minister Merugu Nagarjuna said Jagan Mohan Reddy who has inherited the legacy of his father and former chief minister late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy “is showing to the people what welfare is and what development is.” The people, in turn, are showing their love for the YSRC and giving it victories in all elections,” he noted.

YSRC MLC Ummareddy Venkateswarlu said Jagan Mohan Reddy took the administration to the village level and took the schemes meant for farmers to the farms. “Jagan is not like Chandrababu. Jagan is a man of action,” he said.

The four-year-end celebrations were held all over AP. In Anantapur, YSRC leaders celebrated the occasion by cutting a cake in the presence of MLA Anantha Venkatarami Reddy and YSRC district president Paila Narasimhaiah.

Roads and buildings minister Daissetty Raja cut the cake at the statue of YSR at Tuni to mark the occasion. He said NTR, YSR and Jagan Mohan Reddy were the only chief ministers who implemented welfare schemes in Andhra Pradesh. “Chandrababu threw the 108 scheme into a corner.”

In Kovvur, YSRC celebrated the day under the leadership of home minister Tanethi Vanita by cutting a huge cake. Vanita said Jagan Mohan Reddy was fulfilling the Grama Swarajya dream of Mahatma Gandhi and working for women empowerment.

In Nellore, minister Kakani Govarthan claimed Jagan Mohan Reddy's four-year rule marked a golden age and AP is setting an example for the country in many respects. “It is a great thing to involve women and people from the suppressed classes in the government. The YSRC government implemented welfare schemes even during the time of Corona crisis,” he said.

He alleged that NT Rama Rao died because of Chandrababu's conspiracies and back-stabbing.

In Tirupati, YSRC celebrated the day by cutting a cake at YSR Statue in Indira Maidan in Tuda Circle. MLA Bhumana Karunakar, MLC Sipai Subramaniam, mayor Shirisha and YSRC leaders and activists participated in the programme. The MLA said the people are happy under Jagan Mohan Reddy's welfare rule and they are not ready to believe in Chandrababu's freebies promises.

In Guntur, MLC and YSRC Guntur district president Manikya Vara Prasad with MLC Yesuratnam and other leaders celebrated the four years of Jagan Mohan Reddy’s rule.

In other districts, ministers, MLAs and MPs with other leaders participated in the events in large numbers.
