I am uniformed on Kochi Cancer Centre: V P Gangadharan
Kochi: Eminent oncologist and special officer (technical) for the Kochi Cancer Centre project Dr V.P. Gangadharan has said that in recent times he had not been informed of any happening in relation to the Kochi Cancer Centre. “I attended all previous meetings I was invited. I replied to all emails which invited my suggestions also. But in recent times I am not informed of anything related to cancer centre and hence my involvement is nil,” he said.
With the change of government in the state, Dr Gangadharan is not seen in relation to the cancer centre project which was very evident in the selection of doctors for the outpatient wing held earlier this month. The government included experts from other institutions for the selection.
OP FROM TOMORROW: Meanwhile the functioning of the outpatient wing of the Kochi Cancer Centre will start on the Kerala Piravi Day though it will take some more time for it to be fully operational. An official said that call letters have been issued to all selected and they have been asked to join on November 1.
“Some of them have issues of getting relieved from their present job. The official opening function of the outpatient wing will be arranged as per the convenience of the health minister,” he said. The official said the infrastructure and medicines for the centre are ready and sufficient doctors have been identified for running the outpatient wing.
