Centre forms panel to revise Metro fares
Hyderabad: The Centre has formed a committee to revise the fares of Hyderabad Metro Rail services.
Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited managing director N.V.S. Reddy said people could send suggestions through email at ffchmrl@gmail.com or by post to the Chairman, Fare Fixation Committee, Metro Rail Bhavan, Begumpet, Secunderabad.
A statement said the Centre to meet statutory requirements had appointed the fare fixation committee (FFC) for the purpose of recommending fare revision for the Hyderabad Metro Rail.
It said the fare fixation committee (FFC) is an independent body with quasi-judicial powers. It will examine the costing data furnished by L&T, inputs from experts with domain knowledge and suggestions from the general public etc., and decide on the fares.
Justice Gudiseva Shyam Prasad (retd.) has been named chairman of the committee which will have Dr Surendrakumar Bagde, additional secretary, Union urban affairs department and Arvind Kumar, special chief secretary, MA&UD, as its members.
