People’s revolt against YSRC has started: Naidu
TIRUPATI: Predicting revolutionary changes in Andhra Pradesh, former chief minister and Telugu Desam Chief N. Chandrababu Naidu said that the people in the State have already started revolting against the ruling YSR Congress Party and the voters will teach them a befitting lesson in the 2024 general Assembly elections.
Speaking to reporters after winding up ‘Idemi Kharma Mana Rashtraniki' programme at Kovur in Nellore district on Saturday, the TD chief said that the year 2022 remained a year of hatred, tragedies and destruction for AP since every person in the state suffered both physically and mentally besides financially.
"The faulty policies of the state government have pushed everyone into deep trouble and false cases have been foisted against those who questioned it. Even as the people in the whole state have been suffering, the team headed by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is insensible to their problems. In addition, some innocent persons are being harassed by the Crime Investigation Department at the behest of the YSRC leaders”, Mr. Naidu lamented.
He said that the state of Andhra Pradesh has the highest debt-burdened farmers with Rs 2.42 lakh debt per head. The State is in third place in the country in farmers’ suicides, he noted.
Observing that Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy hardly takes such issues into consideration, the TD chief said that even ration rice supplied by the Central government was being diverted only for monetary benefits. "The Union minister has stated this on the floor of Parliament," he pointed out.
Expressing deep concern about the free flow of ganja and other drugs in almost all parts of the State, he asked why the Chief Minister was not responding on such a serious issue. Atrocities against women are on the rise in the state and in a district like Nellore alone 11 such incidents were reported, he stated.
Naidu said youths are being pushed into depression due to the growing unemployment and are resorting to committing suicide as they could not get jobs.
On the other hand, he alleged that the YSRC MLAs, who once faced financial problems, have now become crorepatis by looting the real estate sector. When a Dalit woman poured in her problems to Naidu that false cases were registered against her, he said such police officers would have to face the consequences once the TD is back to power in the State.
