Rachakonda ORR, flyovers shut on New Year eve
HYDERABAD: The Rachakonda traffic police issued a traffic advisory in view of the New Year’s Eve celebrations on December 31, shutting down the Outer Ring Road and several flyovers.
Police said the ORR will be kept closed for light motor vehicles (LMV) and passenger vehicles from 11 pm on December 31 to 5 am on January 1. However, LMVS head to the airport and back would be allowed on the ORR on production of tickets.
Medium and heavy goods vehicles will be allowed on the ORR.
The flyovers at Nagole, Kamineni Hospital, LB Nagar and the underpasses at LB Nagar and Chintalkunta would be closed for LMVs, two-wheelers and passenger vehicles. The Sagar ring road flyover would stay open.
On Thursday, the Cyberabad traffic police had said the ORR and the PVNR Expressway would be closed for light vehicles, except those heading to and back from the airport. The Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge and all flyovers in the Cyberabad limits would be shut from 10 pm on Saturday to 5 am on Sunday. This would include the flyovers at Shilpa Layout, Gachibowli, Biodiversity 1 and 2, Shaikpet, Mindspace, Jubilee Hills Road Number 45, Cyber Towers, Forum Mall-JNTU, Kaithalapur and Balanagar.
