INDIA Bloc’s ‘Misinformation’ Campaign Worked to Some Extent in LS Polls: Sai
Raipur: Chhattisgarh chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai has said that the ‘misinformation’ campaign launched by the INDIA bloc in the just-concluded Lok Sabha polls in the country has worked in its favour ‘to some extent’.
Talking to reporters here late on Tuesday evening, Mr Sai said that the Opposition alliance had resorted to all kinds of ‘lies’ during their campaign in the LS polls, saying that BJP would change the Constitution, do away with reservation and stop elections if returned to power at the Centre.
The ‘misinformation’ campaign launched by the INDIA bloc has worked to their favour ‘to some extent’, he said.
Mr Sai however said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s credibility and popularity among people was able to counter all such false propaganda launched by the Opposition alliance, leading BJP-led NDA to earn a third consecutive term in power at the Centre.
Replying to a question, Mr Sai said that NDA has done well in some states and fared poorly in a few others.
He said that BJP and its allies have done well particularly in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
BJP has gained a majority in Odisha Assembly elections and is all set to form government in the state by ousting the Naveen Patnaik government, he said.
BJP has also put up a stupendous show in the Lok Sabha elections in Odisha by bagging 20 out of 21 seats.
Mr Sai said that his party put up its best-ever performance in Chhattisgarh by securing ten out of 11 LS seats.
“I feel proud of it. All credits for the feat go to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president J P Nadda and other party leaders”, he said.
