India, UK Explore Cooperation in AI, Clean Energy

Both sides discussed collaboration in trade, technology, supply chains, defence, climate, education and people-to-people ties, while also exploring opportunities in clean energy, artificial intelligence and critical minerals

New Delhi: External affairs minister S. Jaishankar on Thursday held talks with UK foreign secretary Yvette Cooper in New Delhi, reviewing progress in bilateral cooperation across key sectors.
Both sides discussed collaboration in trade, technology, supply chains, defence, climate, education and people-to-people ties, while also exploring opportunities in clean energy, artificial intelligence and critical minerals. They also exchanged views on global developments, including Ukraine, West Asia and the Indo-Pacific.
The two ministers later presided over the handing over of a Letter of Approval to the University of Liverpool for establishing a campus in Bengaluru.
“The India-UK partnership is now a forward-looking highway of shared economic ambitions and high-technology! Delighted to welcome UK Foreign Secretary @YvetteCooperMP on her first visit to India. … Our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership powered by #Vision2035 continues to advance,” Jaishankar said.
A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between King’s College London and the National Maritime Foundation to set up a Regional Maritime Security Centre for Excellence.
The British High Commission said ahead of the visit that the talks would review progress under the India-UK Vision 2035 framework and advance cooperation in economic growth, technology, defence, climate and education.
