Jammu and Kashmir Votes in 3 Phases, Haryana on October 1; Results on Oct 4

New Delhi: The Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar on Friday announced the schedule for Assembly elections in Jammu & Kashmir and Haryana.

The election will be held in Jammu and Kashmir after 10 years and the voting will take place for 90 Assembly constituencies in three phases.

The first phase will be on September 18, second phase on September 25 and the final phase will be on October 1, 2024.

The CEC Rajiv Kumar said Jammu and Kashmir has a total of 87.08 lakh voters and there will be 3.71 lakh new voters this time.

The Supreme Court announced that Assembly Elections should be held by September 2024.

Meanwhile, the voting will be held in Haryana in a single phase. The date of polling is October 1 and the counting of votes will be held on October 4.

The CEC said that Haryana has 2.01 voters.

The electoral rolls for Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana will be finalised on August 20 and 27 respectively, said the Chief Election Commissioner.
