Karnataka Invites AP MSMEs to Invest in Tourism Sector
Vijayawada: Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) and Karnataka Department of Tourism are jointly organising Dakshin Bharat Utsav – 2024 on June 15 and June 16 in Bangalore to attract Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to invest in the tourism industry of the state.
Speaking at a programme organised for the purpose, FKCCI past president K. Shiva Shanmugam said their aim is to generate ample employment opportunities for locals in their respective regions while providing return on investment to the MSMEs.
“DBU-2024 will be a platform for MSME investors from all southern states to invest in Karnataka’s tourism sector. The respective state chambers of commerce will act as a bridge between the government and investors and eliminate various bottlenecks in obtaining the necessary permissions within a stipulated period through a single window system,” Shanmugam underlined.
Addressing the gathering, AP Chambers of Commerce president Potluri Bhaskara Rao underlined the importance of tapping foreign tourists to the enriching tourist spots in the country.
“Andhra Pradesh has none of India’s total 42 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It is time the state government promoted Gandikota, the Grand Canyon of India, and other famous tourist spots, moving beyond its spiritual / religious tourist destinations like Tirumala and Srisailam,” Bhaskara Rao remarked.
