Kejriwal claims ‘one nation, one leader’ is Modi’s secret mission

Mumbai: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday reiterated that Amit Shah will be made the Prime Minister in 2025 if the BJP comes to power. He alleged that “one nation, one leader” is Mr. Modi’s secret mission ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha election.

Addressing an election rally organised by Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (SP) in Mumbai, Mr. Kejriwal said, “Modiji is turning 75 in September. He is going to retire and is seeking votes to make Amit Shah as next PM. When I said this the first time, all BJP leaders denied it but not Modiji. Shouldn't he say this? Or did he make the rule to remove Advaniji?”

The rally was held on the eve of the last campaigning day for 13 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, which will go to polls on Monday. It was addressed by NCP founder Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, Mr. Kejriwal and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge. RJD leader Tejasvi Yadav and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also joined the rally through their pre-recorded video messages to support the INDIA bloc candidates in Mumbai.

Mr. Kejriwal said that Modi does not have courage to face the opposition leaders, which is why he is sending them behind the bars. “Opposition parties in countries like Russia, Bangladesh, Pakistan suffer and face atrocities. Modiji wants to turn India into Pakistan and Bangladesh,” he said.

The Delhi CM also alleged that Mr. Modi is trying to bring a “one nation and one leader” system in the country. “For this, opposition leaders will be put in jail. If he wins, every opposition leader, be it Thackeray, Kharge, Gandhi, Pawar, Stalin, Vijayan will be in jail,” he added.

Mr. Pawar said that Narendra Modi had called him “Bhatakti Atma” (wandering soul). “After the death of a person, the soul remains. But this soul will not take rest unless dethrone you (Modi) from power," said the NCP founder while taking dig at the PM.

Asking people to vote for the MVA to save the Constitution, the NCP founder said, “This is for the first time that people are faced with a problem of protecting the constitution. This is because of the ruling side. Those who are not with the PM are being jailed. The only program country’s PM has to run politics as per his wish and policies of his liking,” he said.

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray said that Narendra Modi and Amit Shah have created rift between Marathi and Gujarati. “Due to this, some arrogant businessman did not provide jobs to Marathi people. This will not be tolerated,” he said.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said that the Congress has preserved the democratic values and Constitution of India. Shiv Sena UBT leader Sanjay Raut said that it is time for Mr. Modi to go to an old age home.

“We have some good ones in Maharashtra and we will surely send you there. You can sit back there and watch how we govern the country,” Mr. Raut said.
