Kishan Denies BRS-BJP Merger; Seeks Probe into Wall Collapse at Sunkishala Tunnel
Hyderabad: Union minister and state BJP chief G. Kishan Reddy said that the Central Election Commission was ready to conduct Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir as per the directions of the Supreme Court, and claimed that the BJP was confident of forming government in the Union Territory.
Pakistan-sponsored terrorists were trying to destabilise the law and order situation in Jammu and Kashmir, Kishan Reddy. He was speaking at an event at his official residence in Delhi, where he planted a sapling in the name of his mother as part of the `Ek Ped Maa ke Naam’ initiative.
Asked about media reports of the BRS merging with the BJP, Kishan Reddy denied any talks were held on the issue. “There are no consultations or talks for the merger of the BRS with the BJP,” he said.
Asked on the BJP stand on poor quality of construction of irrigation projects and the collapse of a safety wall at the Sunkishala tunnel, Kishan Reddy demanded a high-level probe into the August 1 mishap.
On the issue of his replacement as state party chief, Kishan Reddy said that the BJP high command would take a decision.
