Visakhapatnam: A man and 19 livestock perished when thundershowers, accompanied by gusty winds, struck Alluri Sitarama Raju district on Friday.
According to information reaching here, Sidari Devaraju (30) of Gorrelametta village in Boodaralla panchayat of Koyyuru mandal had taken cattle out to graze when it started raining heavily. Devaraju took shelter under a jackfruit tree. While talking on the phone, lightning struck him dead.

As a result, farmer Pangi Kalyan lost two bulls and eight goats, Apparao lost two bulls and five goats, and Chinnarao lost five goats.
