Couple’s Suicide Note Triggers Row in MP
Bhopal: The death by suicides of businessman Manoj Parmar and his wife Neha in Ashta town, Sehore district, have triggered a heated political exchange between the Opposition Congress and the ruling BJP. The couple, found hanging at their home on Friday, allegedly left behind a typed and printed suicide note surfaced online on Saturday, urging Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to look after their children.
While the police confirmed receiving the note and promised a thorough investigation, Congress leaders, including former chief minister Kamal Nath, accused the BJP government and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) of harassing Parmar and pressuring him to join the BJP. Nath claimed the couple’s support for Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra made them targets.
The BJP dismissed the accusations as baseless, accusing the Congress of politicising a personal tragedy. The ED, which conducted searches on December 5 related to bank fraud and money laundering cases against Parmar and a PNB manager, has yet to comment on the allegations.
