Bhopal: A Class eight student allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the window of his hostel room here with the help of a towel, police said on Wednesday.
The incident took place on Tuesday night.
According to the police, 14-year-old Vams Kushwaha, a student of an English medium school here, returned to his hostel room after his yoga class.
His roommates found him hanging from the window with the help of a towel when they returned to the room from dinner on Tuesday and alerted the hostel warden about the incident, police said.
The hostel warden then reported the matter to the police.
The student committed suicide by hanging himself from the window of his hostel room and his body was sent for postmortem on Wednesday day, inspector in-charge of Parbalia police station Rohit Singh Nagar said.
Police reportedly recovered a suicide note written in English which suggested some betrayal by someone, sources said.
However, a probe was on into the incident, police said.
The cause of the student taking the extreme step could be ascertained only after the postmortem report came, police said.
