MP mantri suffers leg fracture while leading kanwariya yatra

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh minister Rakesh Singh suffered a fracture in his right leg while leading a yatra of kanwariyas in Jabalpur in the state late on Thursday.

The minister twisted his leg when a BJP woman leader, local sarpanch Malti Chaudhari who was part of the yatra, accidentally fell on him pushing him to the ground, in the process.

The incident had caused a commotion at the event.

The minister however regained his composure and handled the situation by asking the gathering to maintain calm.

He was later admitted to a local hospital where it was found that he suffered a hairline fracture in his right leg.

The participants in the yatra were walking to Chandramouleshwar Shiva temple in Jabalpur city after carrying water from Narmada at Gaurighat on the occasion of month of ‘Shravan’ of Hindu calendar, when the incident took place.

A video capturing the incident on Friday went viral on social media.
