No Full-fledged Central University Yet
Anantapur: The central university allotted to AP is unable to compete even with local universities like JNTU, Anantapur, as it lacks a permanent campus even though it had been established five years ago. Further, the courses and faculty at the university are limited.
Central University of Andhra Pradesh initially started in the JNTU-A incubation centre. It later shifted to a vacant private engineering college of a BJP leader a couple of years ago. Facilities are poor and students are facing many problems.
Officials say they are likely to shift a few sections, including hostels, in the next year to a permanent campus at Janthalur in BK Samudram mandal.
Clearly, due to lack of effective courses and permanent faculty, students from AP as also other states are preferring to stay away from the Central University of AP and try their luck elsewhere.
