PK Never Disappoints in Confusing Cadre and Voters
Vijayawada: When it comes to confusing his party cadre and even voters, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan never disappoints! Pawan is testing his electoral fortunes from the coastal Assembly segment of Pithapuram, which falls in the Kakinada Lok Sabha constituency. As part of the alliance, the Jana Sena has got the Kakinada Lok Sabha constituency, for which the party chief nominated T. Uday Srinivas.
Srinivas, a first generation entrepreneur, developed a chain of tea outlets across the two Telugu states. He shot into the limelight by buying Vaarahi, the campaign vehicle for Pawan Kalyan, some time ago.
Despite pressure from various quarters for the ticket, the Jana Sena chief stuck by Srinivas.
The problem, however, is that whenever he introduced Srinivas to party cadre or voters, he is making it a point to talk about the rival YSRC candidate Ch Sunil. “He is a good person. I know him well. But, he is in wrong party,” the film actor said in one event.
“I know him well. We greet each other every time we meet. The other day we met at Nagababu garu son’s marriage in Italy. He always sails with wrong party,” Pawan said in another event.
Perhaps, little did Pawan realise that he was revealing the secret of how close Sunil was to the Konidela family, which invited select guests to the destination wedding of hero and Nagababu’s son Varun Tej, and Sunil was one among them.
He also said Sunil always sailed with the wrong party, forgetting that the latter made electoral debut by contesting on a ticket of the Praja Rajyam, the party floated by Pawan’s brother K. Chiranjeevi, in 2009. Sunil has scored a hat-trick of losses — in 2009 on Praja Rajyam ticket, 2014 on a YSRC ticket and in 2019 as a TD candidate. Sunil is testing his fortunes for the fourth consecutive time.
