Vijayawada: Pawan Kalyan has, reacting on Twitter to the toxic gas incident in Anand aqua food park, noted that a similar incident had happened in the same factory in 2012, and there was human loss then too. Complaints to the police and respective authorities have been lodged but no action was taken, he said.
Mr Pawan requested environmentalists to assess the extent of damage the aqua and other industries are creating, and extended his Jana Sena’s support to enforce stringent environmental measures against polluting industries. He also said any high-handed measures by the government could trigger violence and the Mogaltur aqua food park incident had proven that their fears were right.
He said both the East and West Godavari districts are the rice bowls or the Annapurna of Andhra Pradesh.
Environmentalists had approached the Jana Sena to demand that the state government look into the industries that are polluting the waters of Godavari.
He said that it’s now left to the wisdom of the leaders of Telugu Deasm, with all their experience.
