Raghunandan Rao seeks month-long House session

HYDERABAD: The BJP has demanded that the BRS government hold the Legislative Assembly session, the last of its second term, for at least 30 days as there were important issues affecting people that needed discussion. BJP Dubbak MLA M. Raghunandan Rao, addressing a press conference on Monday, said that there many issues needed urgent attention of the government and appropriate discussions, including delay in RS 1 lakh farm loan waiver and the impact of the heavy rains and floods.

He said that discussions on the problems faced by farmers can itself take 30 days.

“There are issues like promises Rs 3,016 monthly unemployment allowance, notifications for filling up vacancies in the government, the number of regular employees in the government and those on contract,” he said.

He said that typically, the Chief Minister would say that the agenda for the Assembly session will be decided by the Business Advisory Committee but the BJP would not be invited to the meeting.

“When Opposition members raise questions in the House, they are immediately suspended. At least this time, the ruling party and the government should allow discussions and debates as this is the last session of the current Assembly,” he said.
