BRS Blocking Constituency Funds, Says Seethakka
Warangal: Coming down heavily on BRS on funds allocation, Congress MLA Dansari Anasuya, popular as Seethakka from Mulugu constituency said that she was compelled to approach the High Court as BRS failed to allocate necessary budget under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Speaking to the media persons here in Mulugu on Sunday, the MLA said, “At least in the court, I will get justice,” Seethakka alleged that the BRS leaders never cared about the poor and never tried to address their problems. “By spending crores of rupees, they are hatching a conspiracy to defeat me in the coming Assembly elections rather than allocating funds for the betterment of her constituency,” she added.
It is worth mentioning that Seethakka approached the High Court and filed a petition alleging that the state government is not allocating funds. During the hearing, counsel appearing for Seethakka told the judge that the term of MLAs was set to conclude by January 2024 and allocated funds under the CDF would lapse if they remain unutilised. Therefore, High Court sent notices to the state government and sought explanation on that.
Seethakka pointed out that instead of implementing the schemes transparently which was introduced for the welfare of poor people, Mulugu received insufficient budget allocation resulting stagnation of developmental works.
“For the past 20 years, I was serving the people in my constituency irrespective of my winning and losing the elections. During the pandemic, floods and fire mishaps, I stood by the people and would be doing in the future also,” the MLA said.
“Common people should not fall prey to BRS leaders who are trying to lure them with false promises. People should respond appropriately and support Congress. Congress is the only party which cares for the poor people,” she concluded.
