Nellore: Tension prevailed in Atmakur town when a ruling party councillor obstructed the drive to curb pig menace in the municipal limits.
Pig breeders staged a demonstration opposing the civic body’s decision and
Bhaskar Reddy, representative of the 20th ward, joined the protest and
locked horns with municipal staff obstructing the drive.
The councillor alleged that the civic body did not give prior information to
pig breeders about the drive and the decision was taken without any
consultation. Police took the councillor into custody.
