BRS and BJP Conspired to Defeat Congress, Alleges Konda Surekha

WARANGAL: The BRS and BJP joined hands and conspired to defeat the Congress candidates in the assembly elections, former minister Konda Surekha has alleged.

Surekha came down heavily against BRS candidate and Warangal East MLA Nannapuneni Narendar in this respect. She alleged that they played games on the directions of panchayat raj minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao.

She referred to a video that circulated on various social media platforms in Warangal district on Friday.

When Surekha along with her daughter Susmitha Patel and Congress leaders visited the government ayurveda college in the Labour Colony, BRS MLA Narendar came in his car from the opposite direction along with BRS party leaders.

She stopped the car and warned the MLA against threatening the Congress party activists and asked him to remember that it was the Konda family that gave him political life. “Do not try to provoke us and else, you will face severe consequences in the coming days,” she said.

Surekha alleged that Narendar made a conspiracy to defeat her in the assembly elections by joining hands with BJP candidate Errabelli Pradeep Rao, on a suggestion from minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao.

Meanwhile, some of the BRS leaders tried to interfere by raising slogans; to which Konda Surekha responded strongly and asked them to be aware “with whom you are trying to have a fight.”

A tense atmosphere persisted for a while as both the party leaders indulged in arguments. But MLA Narendar got down from his car and left the place by taking a walk, without commenting anything against the mother and daughter.

Notably, before the election dates were announced, the leaders of both the parties clashed with each other. Former MLC Konda Muralidhar Rao and MLA Narendar, who attended a programme in Warangal, faced each other provocatively. Both did not give a way to the cars in a narrow street they were passing through.

The police officials intervened and avoided a confrontation.
