Clarity on YSRC candidates to emerge by Sankranti festival

Vijayawada: Coordinator for YSR Congress north Andhra region, YV Subba Reddy, has said MLC Vamsi Krishna Yadav has left the YSRC to join the Jana Sena because of personal reasons.

Addressing the media at the party’s central office at Tadepalli on Tuesday, he said an announcement on the candidates for Uttara (North) Andhra would be done very soon along with release of the party’s statewide list.

On the exit of Vasmi Yadav, Subba Reddy said there might be differences between him and MVV Satyanarayana MP, in Visakhatpnam. The party felt Satyanarayana was the right candidate for Visakhapatnam East. “We talked with party MLAs, Tippala Nagi Reddy and Alla Ramakrishna Reddy on this issue. Nagi Reddy agreed for a change of candidate for the constituency.

“The change of candidature is not only limited to North Andhra but will span all over the state. A clear picture would emerge by the Sankranti festival season,” he said.

Subba Reddy also said a few other party members have resigned from the YSRC due to personal reasons.

“Due to various reasons, we are changing the candidates for a few seats. Chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy stated clearly that we are keen on winning all the 175 seats. It is important that we all work together to achieve this goal. If there’s any opposition to a sitting MLA, changes shall be made as we have to win the elections at any cost,” he said.

Responding to questions on reports that Subba Reddy was working as a mediator between YS Sharmila and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, he said, “This is a baseless allegation from the agenda-driven media houses. I have not been to Hyderabad for quite a while. Whenever I went, I tried meeting Sharmila at a personal level.”

Subba Reddy said it did not matter who campaigned against the chief minister. “Jagan Reddy is the people’s CM. Thanks to the welfare schemes that he is successfully implementing, he remains hugely popular. He’s unbeatable.”
