CM Jagan visiting Kakinada to release YSR Pension Kanuka, inaugurate projects

Kakinada: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would be in Kakinada on January 3 to release YSR Pension Kanuka –- the enhanced pension amount of Rs 3,000 -- and inaugurate several development projects.

These include the Kondayyapalem Railway Over Bridge (ROB), a Cathlab, ICU and Trauma Care facility, a Science Centre, the Skating ground etc.

The chief minister will arrive at the police parade grounds here by 10.20 am and interact with public representatives. He would participate in several programmes, address public meetings till 1pm and leave for Tadepalli by 1.05 pm.

The work on the Kondayyapalem RoB in Kakinada started 10 years ago during Congress rule, at a cost of Rs 65 crore. The bridge was named after former MLA Mootha Gopalakrishna.

The rail line passing through Kakinada city bisects the city into two parts. The JNTUK, district police office, the Rangaraya medical college, the government industrial training centre and many government offices are situated on both sides of the rail line.

The RoB works were planned in 2008-209 and the railway’s part of the works was completed in 2016. The overbridge is very much useful for the people of rural areas in relation to meeting their daily medical, educational, marketing and other purposes.

Jagan Reddy would inaugurate the Cath Lab and ICU over the third floor of the existing Trauma Care Centre at the GGH here at a cost of Rs 7.20 crore with MP LADS and state government funds. The trauma care facility in the hospital is arranged at a cost of Rs 7.50 crore.

The Chief Minister would also inaugurate the Sri Ragireddy Venakta Jayaram Kumar Kalakshetra built at a cost of Rs 20 crore. The building designed on the green concept is divided into three levels with an overall floor area of 3,941 square metres.

It boasts of a movie screening and film festival area, art exhibition galleries, private event halls for social programmes, arts instruction and skill development spaces, areas for fairs and conferences, a live theatre for concerts, space for civic events, an auditorium with a 770 seat capacity, a projector for screening, the admin and guest rooms, a conference hall with pantry and storage facility.

The CM would also inaugurate the YSR Skating Rink at a cost of Rs 9.50 crore.
