Nalgonda leaders spar as Thakare holds review meet
HYDERABAD: The differences between local leaders in Nalgonda came out in the open during a review meeting held by AICC Telangana in charge Manikrao Thakare.
In the meeting held in Kodad, a group close to PCC chief A. Revanth Reddy felt humiliated after former minister Ramreddy Damodar Reddy spoke against those who joined from “other parties”.
The group led by Patel Ramesh Reddy, an aspirant for the Suryapet Assembly ticket and his men felt humiliated after Damodar Reddy’s statements. Damodar Reddy, a former MLA from Suryapet is said to be feeling threatened as Ramesh Reddy too wants to contest from the same seat.
In the review meeting of ‘Haath Se Haath Jodo’, Damodar Reddy in an indirect reference to the leaders who joined Congress from the TD said those who joined the party after 2017 are damaging the organisation.
The supporters of Ramesh Reddy, who is also PCC general secretary argued with Uttam Kumar Reddy, AICC member, and Harkara Venugopal Rao. They questioned the way the former minister was “demeaning” them and their leader.
While some of them were driven out of the meeting hall, others continued to argue. It was also alleged that Ramesh Reddy did not get a chance to present his side of the story to Thakare.
Several leaders including Cheruku Sudhakar, Addanki Dayakar, Ch. Kiran Kumar Reddy, Dubbaka Narasimha Reddy, Beerla Ilaiah, B. Laxma Reddy who are considered close to Revanth Reddy did not attend the review meeting despite being invited.
